Thermotec achieves
IATF 16949 certification

We are pleased to confirm that Thermotec Plastics has successfully transitioned to the IATF 16949 standard, the internationally recognised quality management system for automotive production and relevant service part organisations.

This certification builds upon our longstanding ISO/TS 16949:2009 approval and represents a significant step forward in the rigour and scope of our quality management systems. IATF 16949 places a greater emphasis on risk management, defect prevention, and the reduction of variation throughout the supply chain, areas that are central to everything we do at Thermotec.

For our automotive partners, this transition provides additional confidence that our processes, controls, and documentation meet the specific and demanding requirements of global OEMs and Tier 1 manufacturers. It means traceability is maintained at every stage of production, from raw material receipt through to final inspection and despatch.

The certification audit was conducted by a UKAS-accredited certification body and covered all aspects of our 45,000 sq/ft Witton facility, including our thermoforming, polyurethane moulding, 5-axis CNC trimming, and assembly operations.

This achievement sits alongside our existing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, as well as our Aston Martin Responsible Procurement Certification and membership of SMMT and Made in the Midlands. Together, these accreditations underpin the trust that our partners place in us as a long-term, reliable supply chain partner.
